SIBOL NG AGHAM AT TEKNOLOHIYA (SIBAT) is proud to announce the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), one of the country’s premier state universities.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our mission to champion Community-based Renewable Energy Systems (CBRES), Community Sustainable Agriculture (CSA), and Community Water Resource Development (CBWRD). By partnering with PUP, SIBAT is actively connecting the future of technological innovation with the crucial needs of our grassroots communities.

This partnership with PUP’s College of Engineering and Institute of Technology (CEIST) ensures that our community projects are continuously refined and supported by cutting-edge academic research and talented, mission-driven students.
The MOA establishes a robust Academe-Industry Linkage designed to be mutually empowering:
1. Live Laboratories for Practical Research
Our operational sites—focused on solar energy, sustainable farming, and water resource management—will now serve as live field laboratories for PUP students and faculty. SIBAT will welcome researchers to conduct practical studies, data collection, and applied technology projects. This infusion of fresh intellectual rigor will help us optimize our community systems and find innovative solutions to existing challenges.
2. Mentoring Future Sustainability Champions
We are excited to formalize our commitment to mentoring by hosting students for their On-the-Job Training (OJT) and Internship Programs. We commit to accepting student candidates every term/semester, giving them vital, hands-on experience in the non-profit and sustainable technology sector. This is our investment in ensuring the next wave of technologists is equipped with a deep understanding of community development.
3. Elevating Knowledge and Skills
The partnership will allow SIBAT to access the University’s deep technical expertise through Faculty Immersion and joint Training and Seminar Programs. This two-way exchange ensures our staff remains current with academic advancements while university faculty gain a better understanding of the realities and demands of sustainable fieldwork. Furthermore, we will collaborate on establishing a framework for Skill Certification, validating the practical competencies crucial for our sector.
