SIBAT and the Provincial Government of Kalinga held its 2nd Province-wide CBRES (Community-Based Renewable Energy Systems) Summit themed: “Sustaining Community-based Renewable Energy Systems (CBRES) as our mitigation contribution in response to Climate Change”
The summit aims to:
- To pinpoint the strengths particularly the role and contribution of stakeholders such as the community, peoples’ organizations, and their respective local government units
- To promote best practices of LGUs and POs in establishing and managing their CBRES – MHPs in selected barangays in Kalinga province
- To address issues and concerns of the MHPs in terms of management and technical operations and maintenance, tariffication and watershed protection and other issues
- To ensure LGU’s support to CBRES in Kalinga and to the communities/people’s organization that manages it
