Turnover Ceremony of the 15kW Micro-Hydro Power System to LAMHPPLA

February 11, 2026 • Sitio Lapat, Conner, Apayao

We proudly celebrate the official turnover of the 15kW Micro-Hydro Power System to the Lapat Micro Hydro Power Plant and Livelihood Association (LAMHPPLA) — a meaningful milestone for community-based renewable energy and watershed protection in Sitio Lapat.

We were honored by the presence of Hon. Atty. Jorico Bayaua, Mayor of Conner, whose continued support strengthens community-led initiatives for sustainable development. We also acknowledge our partners — MISEREOR, SEACOLOGY, and Green Empowerment — for their steadfast collaboration and commitment to this project.

Our appreciation extends to Elaine Malate of PTV-4 and her team for covering the event and helping bring wider attention to the community’s efforts.

We give special recognition to the engineers and technical staff of SIBAT, whose dedication, field expertise, and consistent guidance were instrumental throughout the project. Their work ensured not only the successful installation of the system but also the integration of practices that support the protection and sustainable management of Lapat’s watershed areas.

Most importantly, we honor the people of Lapat — the true champions of this initiative. Their hard work, cooperation, and strong commitment to safeguarding their natural resources were central to the success of this endeavor. The micro-hydro power system stands as a testament to their collective effort and their vision for a sustainable and self-reliant future.

A meaningful milestone for Lapat as it continues to advance community-driven renewable energy and watershed protection.
